Playing Outdoor Games

Have you ever tried playing soccer where you can only kick with your left foot? Or playing on your hands and knees? Or with your hands behind your back?

Outdoor games are a lot of fun to play and when you add a slight twist to them they can be even more fun. You can teach some of these games to your kids so they can play them outdoors as well. They will have so much fun playing games like this because it will create a lot of laughter and silly things.

Some types of outdoor games may not have a twist but you can have the winner of the first outdoor game make a rule. Once they win a game they can make a rule of their choice that everyone has to follow like hopping on one foot during the next match or closing their eyes depending on what game your playing.

I like learning and playing outdoor games because it gets you outdoors in the nice weather or even in the bad weather. There are games you can play in the summer, winter in the rain or in the snow. See who can run outdoors and collect the most rain in a bucket in a certain amount of time. Have a pile of balloons outside and see how can pop the most in 20 seconds. Then whoever wins can say, "you must do it with your eyes closed next time".

When I was young we used to make up outdoor games and put even bigger twists on them so that they become more fun all over again. Try mixing games together and playing them like playing soccer with your hands instead of your feet.

Once your kids start putting twists on games they will do it on their own in the future because it's a new game for them to play.

Outdoor Games With A Twist

Looking for new outdoor games to play? Visit my website because I have listed a bunch of new and old games that you can play outdoors with your family or friends. I also have many different outdoor products for sale including sports equipment, toys and games.

Some of the games I have listed are also played indoors but to switch up the style of the game you can play them outdoors as well. Little things like adding a rule can make a game much more fun for you kids to play.

Assume your kids are outdoors playing games and you decide to yell out a new rule every 30 minutes for them to abide by. You can call out rules such as, you have to throw lefty, or hop on one foot, or even spin in a circle 3 times before you move.

This will change the outdoor game they are playing into a silly fun atmosphere that they all enjoy. You can do this trick in more than just the outdoor area. If you're playing a card game or board game you an implement these rules as well to make the night much more fun.

A lot of outdoor games and indoor games get basic and kind of boring so you might need to change the way it's played slightly in order to enjoy just as much. It will make the game new and exciting all over again.

My Outdoor Games Website

I bought the domain name of www.outdoorgames.net because I figured i would go straigh to the front page of Google for the term outdoor games. Well it worked very well because I was sent to the front page with a number 9 listing for my website.

I list the rules to many different outdoor games for kids and adults to play with their families and friends. I have party ideas listed if you plan on having an outdoor party with your guests. You can play games with balloons, balls or even nothing at all. You could just play tag outdoors and have a great time feeling like a kid again.

Indoor and outdoor games can be a lot of fun for any age group and I bet you will have fun playing the games I have listed. I have games such as butts up, camoflauge, 21, sportts games, fun games and even some card games if you get stuck indoors. You will learn the rules to all of my games and be a hit at the party because you're the one with all of the ideas.

Outdoor Gmaes - Polish Horseshoes

I know a lot of outdoor games for adults and kids. This one is definitely for adults because it involves alcohol. The game is called Polish Horseshoes and you'll need a Frisbee and two ski poles or other types of poles that can hold a beer bottle on them. Stick them in the ground about as far apart as the regular game of horseshoes and place an empty beer bottle on top of each one.

This is a game for 4 player with two players on each end, but in this game the players on the same end are team mates. So head outdoors and set up the game and make sure you bring the beer with you as well. Each player needs to hold a beer in one hand while playing.

The object of the game is to get to 21 with the same point systems as horseshoes. You get one point if your throw a reasonable throw and the other team doesn't catch it. You get two points if you hit the pole or the bottle, but you have to knock the bottle on the ground. Remember that even if the bottle is hit, you still need to catch the Frisbee or it's three points to the other team.

You can also try to catch the bottle before it hits the ground to save yourself two more points. However, you can't touch the bottle until the bottle or the pole was hit. If the Frisbee hits the ground it's considered dead. It cant slide into the pole to knock the bottle off.

The first team to 21 wins the game. I also like to make the other team drink 2 for every point to make it a little more interesting.

Tip: If you're playing against someone who cant seem to catch, or just keeps dropping them that day then make sure you throw it a little bit harder. That way they will keep dropping them and rack up your points. I even forget about the bottle all together sometimes because I'm just whipping the Frisbee at one person.

I like this outdoor game a lot because it's a little different from the rest of the games out there.

Make Rules For Outdoor Games

I would much prefer outdoor games compared to indoor games because you have a lot more room to move around. There are of course some indoor games that are fun too, but being outside when there's nice weather is great. Even when it's raining out you can go out with a bathing suit on and have a good time.

You can play board games and small activities inside but there's so much more to do outdoors. You can play catch, play sports and run around playing whatever games come to mind. Gather up a few people and start a game of you choice. Then every time you start a new game make a rule to throw it off a little bit and make it more difficult.

Outdoor Game Rule Ideas

Play catch with the baseball with a friend or family member.

1. You have to throw lefty
2. You cant move you feet when you throw
3. If you have a big enough area, close your eyes when you throw the ball

Playing A Soccer Game

1. Replace the soccer ball with a kick ball or over sized yoga ball
2. Play where you're allowed to use your hands
3. No dribbling, only passing and shooting

There are so many extra rules you can have to make a game more interesting. Kids are very good at doing that while they're playing a game indoors or outdoors. They love to make it more exciting and so should you.

Any game can be altered. The winner of each game should be able to make the next rule and the previous rules stay in place even though there's a new rule coming so that there's 2 rules, then 3 rules and so on.

This is probably a better idea when you have outdoor games for kids because it can get a little out of hand with certain rules. I'm sure the kids will love it though because they will be laughing all day long.

4 Outdoor Games To Play With Friends Or Family

Outdoor games can be fun with friends or family. You can play them at a party or event with 5 people or 50 people. There are so many different games to play and it's a lot of fun when you're outside in the nice weather.

Outdoor game ideas

1. Tie a balloon to every ones right foot and have a circle or square boundary that everyone can fit in. Count down from 3 and say GO. Each person tries to pop the other persons balloon and the last person with a balloon is the winner. Once your balloon is popped you must sit out.

2. Try a 4 legged race instead of a 3 legged race. Instead of tying up 2 people into 3 legs, tie up 3 people into 4 legs. It's a lot harder and your guests will love the extra challenge.

3. Play tag where you have to hop on one foot when you're moving.

I'm sure you'll start to think of some games one your own after playing a few of these. So keep your imagination open to anything new that might present a challenge.

4. Make a circle and play catch with a tennis ball, or a Nerf ball. Anything that's soft will work. Everyone has to throw the ball with their opposite hand and catch with their opposite hand. If it's a throw that couldn't be caught then that person is out. If it was a good throw and it wasn't caught then that person is out for not catching it.

Outdoor games are so much fun because you cant break anything, or ruin anything like you could if you were inside. Variations of games are what I like because teaching a whole new game is sometimes confusing and difficult for a lot of people. If you take a game that everyone knows and throw a quick twist on it then it will go over much better.

New Outdoor Games to Play For Kids

I'm sure your kids aren't getting bored outdoors, but I think they would always be up for a new game to play. I have a lot of outdoor games for kids and adults. Everyone likes to have fun outside so I figured I would share them with you.

Knock Out

This is a basketball game played outdoors if you don't feel like playing a real game or you have an odd amount of people. First thing you have to do is "break the ice" by making a 3 point shot from the top of the key. If the first person makes it then everyone has a chance to tie. If not, then that person starts the game. It's played quick and always front the foul line. Have everyone line up outdoors by the foul line with two basketballs (one for the first in line and one for the second).

The first person shoots and tries to make the foul shot. If they miss they need to get the rebound and quickly try to make the lay up. Once the first ball hits the rim, or it's missed completely, then the second person shoots. If they make it before the first person, then the first person is out.

The object is to be the last person standing. If the first person makes it right away then they pass it to the next person in line to try and make it. As long as the person in front of you has already shot you can go right away. If you make you shot keep running back to the end of foul line. The last one still in the game wins!

I used to play that game as a kid at least once a week and it never got old. There are probably more outdoor games than you can even think of, so keep updated with my blog and you see many more to come.
